The Rev. Carol Brown was appointed as the Senior Pastor of Hinsdale UMC on July 1, 2008. Carol has served churches in the north suburbs of Glencoe and Northbrook for 13 years and 12 years in urban churches in Chicago. Carol is a graduate of Ohio State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. After working as a Physical Therapist in London and Switzerland, Carol attended Garrett Seminary in Evanston where she received her Masters of Divinity Degree. Carol also attended the World Council of Churches program at Bossey, Switzerland for a year in the Industrial Mission Office.
Carol is a single parent and proud mother of two sons, Andrew (22) and Zach (17), and the companion of Rocky the dog. In her free time, Carol is an avid fan of Zach’s sporting events and enjoys films, reading and politics.
Youth Director
Angela D. Adolf
Angela became the youth director at Hinsdale UMC in August of 2007. Since then she has worked with both the Middle School and Senior High youth, is teaching confirmation classes and also started a theatre ministry for the community. Angela was the director of the theatre ministry at the church her husband grew up in for over 7 years. She didn’t always work in ministry…after college she worked on the advertising/marketing City Retail team at the Chicago Tribune and also with a small advertising company in Oak Brook. Angela has always loved working with youth and feels very blessed to have the opportunity to be doing so at her home church.
Angela loves sharing her ministry with her husband, Joe, and their boys, Ryan (6) & William (4). Joe is a regional Vice-President for USA Funds as well as being an owner of the family funeral home in Berwyn and Willowbrook. Angela’s boys are both attending the Lemont Montessori School where they are thriving and eagerly learning all the wonderful things this world hold in-store for them.
